  ARGENTINA

Argentina, the "country of the six continents" is a gift from mother nature. From the Tropic of Capricorn to the Antarctic Circle there stretches an impressive monument to nature. Its rainforests, waterfalls, forests, lakes and glaciers. It is the green of our Pampa and mountains that touch the sky. It is its fauna: whales, penguins and elephant seals. And it is also its enchanting cities.

It is its culture, its people and their customs... It is ARGENTINA.

Argentina is in southern South America. It has enormous contrasts between the immense eastern Atlantic ocean coast, the never ending plains and the imposing mountain range of the Andes to the west. And from Jujuy to Tierra del Fuego you can find all kind of fauna, flora and landscape. Mountains, the Paraná river, plateaus, lakes, glaciers, forests, hills, the Falls of Iguazú, the pampas, our sterile and stony Patagonia, the mesopotamia, great cities like Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Rosario and very touristic cities by the sea like Mar del Plata and Pinamar.

Easy to get to and to afford, all these places are in the same country. Everything is waiting for you in Argentina.

Our way of life
Argentina's population is estimated to be around 35 million. 95 % of Argentineans are white and principally descendants of Italians and Spaniards. People from all around the world , in particular from Europe, came as inmigrants and settled in a new country where natives and europeans mixed traditions and cultures.

Social life is a very important issue in Argentina, and especially in communities. People come together to take mate (typical South American tea) and talk about current events. They go out, go to the stadium, go dancing, or out for a drink.... There are lots of activities you can get involved in, such as Tango classes, youth movements or sports.

Argentin people are very open-minded and very interested in other cultures and people from other countries. You can easily integrate with groups and you will make new friends surprisingly fast!

The School
When You attend Argentin Schools, you might find them different from the schools in your country. High school is for pupils between 15 to 18 years old. And most schools are coeducational.

The school year in Argentina starts in March and finishes at the end of November. During summer, students have 3 months of vacations and a 15-day- winter holiday during July.

Most schools specialise in some subjects in order to train students for their future studies at university.
